Treatment of Pain

Recognizing a dog's behavior when it is in pain is fairly easy if it is sudden, sharp pain. Because the pain tolerance threshold in dogs is very high, it becomes more complicated to understand when the pain stems from an illness and maintains a constant level.

One of the main signs that may indicate that our dog is experiencing pain is a sudden change in his usual behavior. Another aspect to watch out for is body posture, for example, an arched back can be the basis of severe abdominal pain. Other causes of pain include osteoarticular diseases, pancreatitis (generates widespread pain in internal organs), and inflammatory bowel disease, such as IBD, which brings belly pain, nausea, and dysentery.
