Features of Eagle Dog Lamb Dog Food

The lamb meat in EagleDog Lamb kibble is in dehydrated form: this means that the protein derived from the meat is 11 times more concentrated than in fresh meat, since fresh meat contains at least 70% water.

Therefore, other foods that contain, for example, 30% fresh meat will, once dehydrated (a processing step essential for turning meat into kibble), have an actual meat content of 9%: but at this percentage, meat will not be the primary ingredient.

Lamb meat contains a high percentage of proteins of high biological value, with good quantities and an excellent balance of all the amino acids essential for the development, growth, and maintenance of all parts of the animal’s body; It also contains certain amino acids known as "essential" (lysine, tryptophan, sulfur-containing amino acids, etc.), which are indispensable for muscle development.

Lamb meat is also an important source of minerals (zinc, copper, selenium, and iron) and of water-soluble vitamins (B1, B2, B6, niacin, and B12) and fat-soluble vitamins (E).

In particular, vitamin E is the most important natural antioxidant for cell membranes; it protects phospholipids and is low in cholesterol, counteracts the formation of free radicals, reduces the degradation of vitamins A and B, has an antithrombotic effect, and prevents premature tissue aging.

The lamb meat used in our formulas comes from lambs raised free-range on the pastures of New Zealand.
