Prolife Sterilised Mini Sensitive with Duck and Rice—Wet Food for Spayed or Neutered Dogs
Is Prolife Sterilised Sensitive Adult Duck & Rice Mini a complete or complementary food? It is a complete food: it provides all the nutrients necessary to meet the daily needs of a small, sterilized adult dog, without the need to supplement with other foods.
For which dogs is it recommended? It is formulated for small-breed adult dogs (up to about 10 kg) that have been spayed or neutered and/or have food or digestive sensitivities. It is not recommended for puppies or for medium- and large-breed dogs.
What is the main protein source? Fresh duck, which makes up 65% of the formula. It is a single-source protein that is highly digestible and generally well-tolerated by dogs with food sensitivities.
Does it contain grains? Yes, it contains 4% rice. It is not a grain-free product. Rice was chosen for its high digestibility and low impact on the sensitive gastrointestinal tract.
What does the Alltech® Nutrigenomic system do? It is a patented nutritional system that acts at the cellular level, optimizing the body’s metabolic processes. Prolife uses it as part of its philosophy based on nutrigenomics, the science that studies how nutrients interact with gene expression.
Why is this wet food specifically formulated for spayed or neutered dogs? Spaying or neutering alters a dog’s hormonal profile, slowing metabolism and increasing the risk of weight gain. The formula includes L-carnitine to support fat metabolism and a controlled calorie profile (1,061 kcal/kg) suitable for an animal with reduced energy needs.
Can it be fed every day? Yes, it is a complete food designed for daily use as the sole meal or as part of a mixed diet (wet + dry), adjusting the quantities accordingly.
How should the dietary transition be managed? We recommend introducing Prolife Sterilised Sensitive gradually over 7–10 days, progressively increasing the amount of the new food and reducing that of the previous one, to allow the digestive system to adapt without any issues.
How should it be stored after opening? After opening, the product should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within 24 hours. Variations in color and texture between different batches are normal and result from the natural ingredients, the absence of artificial colors, and variations in the slaughtering of fresh meat.
Can I combine it with Prolife Sterilised dry kibble? Yes, Prolife Sterilised Sensitive Mini wet food can be combined with the Sterilised Sensitive dry food line from the same brand, adjusting the quantities of both to meet your dog’s daily caloric needs. If you have any questions about the proportions, consult your veterinarian.
It contains glucosamine and chondroitin. What are they for? Glucosamine (0.09%) and chondroitin sulfate (0.03%) are two nutrients that support cartilage and joint health. Their inclusion is particularly beneficial for adult dogs and those predisposed to joint problems typical of certain small breeds.
Is it suitable for dogs with food allergies? Duck, as the primary protein source, is often recommended for dogs with sensitivities or intolerances to more common proteins (chicken, beef). However, in cases of confirmed food allergies, it is always necessary to consult your veterinarian before introducing any new food.
