Diseases that our kitty may develop can be due to Taurine deficiency in the diet or a congenital and hereditary problem. The best method to prevent or find out if heart disease is present is a routine examination by the veterinarian. Symptoms are varied, and it is not always easy to tell right away that it is the heart: cardiac decompensation causes vomiting, air hunger, fatigue in movement, cyanosis of the mucous membranes, and meows that are different from usual (almost like rasps or conniptions) in the cat. To try to decrease the chances of developing heart disease, it is good to keep in mind to balance his diet with special supplements containing Taurine, if it is not already present in his kibble or food.
