Using a single source of protein and carbohydrate minimizes the risk of sensitization to multiple ingredients and offers a viable alternative to a homemade privative diet. Horse, Pork, Venison, Rabbit, Duck, Fish, Quail, Wild Boar represent asingle, highly digestible and palatable animal protein source, ideal in the elimination diet. Potatoes or Peas as the sole source of carbohydrates and moderately fermentable fiber, ideal in the elimination diet. In addition, the protein and carbohydrate sources used are not commonly used in animal diets, thus reducing the risk of adverse reaction. Dehydrated meat for increased protein intake, i.e., meat, which undergoes a special heat process is deprived of the water and fat content, normally present in it, leaving a highly concentrated protein source.
