Regarding minerals, iron, in particular, is important for oxygen transport in the blood.
Both types of fish contain above all, vitamins (A, D and E, B1, B2, B6 and B12), minerals and trace elements (magnesium, iron, potassium, zinc, phosphorus, selenium and iodine).

Iodine supports digestion, magnesium strengthens bone structure and the nervous system, and selenium protects cells from oxidative stress.

Important amounts of omega-3 fatty acids are present in salmon, which are not synthesized by dogs and cats and are essential. These essential fatty acids especially play an important role in the inflammatory process as constituents of cell membrane phospholipids.
